Consumers won't pay for a $500 iPhone, another survey suggests
Seems the iPhone is the latest gadget to get 'survey-itis', with every research company worth its salt doing some kind of analysis of consumers over whether they'd buy it or not.
So we know that 1 in 10 US professionals will get it, but the latest survey from Compete Inc. lines up with one of the findings: $500 is just too expensive for many people.
Of the 26% of people who said they'd buy an iPhone, just 1% said they'd pay $500. Hmm, let's do the math on this one...
1% of the 26% of 379 people surveyed...
Less than 1 person will buy an iPhone!
Interesting. I hope this isn't saying you have to be disjointed to buy an iPhone...
Moving on, 42% of those who said they would buy the phone if the price were lower, $200-299 seemed the optimum price. And 60% said they'd switch to AT&T to get hold of it.
Watch this space for the next definitive survey that may or may not back this one up.
