Google not competing with iPhone, analysts say

Whether Google are entering the mobile space or not isn't quite clear, but in any case, they won't be competing directly with the iPhone.

We alluded to that in the original article - after all, Google is very good pals with Apple and they wouldn't want to ruin that - and various analysts seem to agree.

"The bottom line ... we believe Google is working with, not against Apple in the mobile world," said analysts Gene Munster and Michael Olson from Piper Jaffray.

Google are much more into software than hardware, and getting their search, maps, and other apps onto mobile hardware, including the iPhone, would seem to be a much more profitable thing to do.
