Google phone rumours confirmed, won't hurt Apple relationship
There have been plenty of rumours over the past few weeks about Google entering the mobile phone market. As with all rumours, speculation led people to believe that Google might be going head-to-head with Apple's iPhone.
However, though Google have now admitted that they are working on a new mobile device, they are said to be aiming it at emerging markets, and giving it a lower price. It will be targeted at those who don't have a computer but wish to access the Internet. Yep, Google will be sure to have all their applications loaded on this new device.
This shouldn't threaten their good relationship with Apple, as the two products sound to be about as far apart on the price and target market spectrums as you can get.
Maybe one day Google will convince Apple to produce a budget iPhone. Given that the first iPhone will have Google apps built-in, and the growing relationship between the two companies, it's not wholly inconceivable.
