Jajah's free VoIP calls to be blocked by AT&T?
Jajah might be keen to get iPhone users making VoIP calls but the iPhone's US carrier, AT&T/Cingular, certainly aren't.
They are likely to lump Jajah's service, which effectively gives users free mobile phone calls, in to the 'conference call' category, and block them.
A Cingular spokesman has said that the company are losing money because they "have to pay terminating access for every minute the person is on the line." Mark Siegel continued, “Typically these companies run them through local exchange companies that charge high access rates, so we end up paying high access charges.”
