Samsung's UpStage: another iPhone killing contender
Yet another mobile phone surfaces that's being touted as an iPhone killer, if not by the manufacturer itself then by the reporting media.
Samsung's UpStage M620 is coming to the US via Sprint Nextel in early April, for around $300 ($150 with a two-year contract).
The less than half-inch thick candy bar phone and is supposed to solve the "struggle to balance the sometimes-conflicting requirements of a conventional handset and a music or video player" by having two screens and keypads that you simply flip over to use.
It's fairly easy to see that this isn't an iPhone killer. It's merely an alternative for those who can't wait the extra two months. Though it has some nice features in itself, PC World (at least) lists some annoyances, and the whole flipping screen thing sounds overcomplicated.
Why not just have a gorgeously big screen (like the iPhone) and operate it all from one side?
