BenQ's iPhone-like concept revealed
Everyone wants to be an iPhone (well, almost everyone). BenQ has shown off a phone that doesn't even exist yet.
Their design house, Product Visionaries, created a touch screen cell phone with lots of sliding user interface goodies.
According to Mobile Mag, "The little translucent blue thing in the middle can slide in either direction. When it is placed where it is shown in the picture, you get a semi-conventional numerical keypad so that you can dial your calls. Slide that thing all the way to the bottom, and you get a fully unobstructed view of your widescreen videos. I'd imagine they implented some sort of on-screen QWERTYness too."
Thing is, this is but a concept. Any design house worth their salt could knock up an iPhone clone graphic with lots of things that would be really cool if they were on a real phone. Even a physical concept.
Pixels on a screen don't bring BenQ anywhere near competing with the iPhone.
Nice try, though.
