iPhone battery lasts just 40 minutes. Daft claim
John C Dvorak is at it again. Apparently, the reason he advocated Apple scrapping the iPhone was to do with inside information from Cingular stating that the iPhone battery lasted for just 40 minutes.
Apparently, "a guy at Cingular" who was "testing the product" told Dvorak there were lots of issues.
Yeah, one of the issues is how an unnamed Cingular bod in the low ranks ever got his mitts on the iPhone. AT&T's COO, Randall Stephenson, only held it for a few moments before it was taken away by eager Apple executives.
This mythical creature in the depths of Cingular also said that "the interface fouls up constantly". Well, only for 40 minutes, eh?
Most people commenting on this article seem to think that John is simply stirring the Apple fanboy pot, so we won't rise to his bait any more than we have already.
Suffice it to say that any pre-production iPhone that has found its way to Cingular is not the finished product. Apple still have 2 months to put the final battery in.
