Moto's CEO can't utter the word "Apple". Running scared from the iPhone
According to various reports, Motorola fans (yeah, I know, who?) who turned up at the company's first-quarter conference not only discovered that there's very little new to get excited about, but also that their CEO, Ed Zander, can't even utter the name of the company that's releasing the iPhone.
(It's Apple, by the way)
Mac Daily News does a decent job of tearing apart his speech, but we'll have a go as well.
Apparently, the Motorola team is focused on what the "West Coast" phone can do. Maybe he didn't watch Steve's keynote closely enough. OK, so no-one knows every function that the iPhone will have, but it's not rocket science to see what the main features are.
The West Coast phone? Oh please.
It wouldn't be so bad if Motorola had something decent to offer as an iPhone alternative, but all they can offer is spin, according to one money manager.
