Online iPhone auction scams continue
About has taken a look at the increasing number of dubious iPhone-related online auctions.
Not content with scamming on eBay, some rather dodgy sounding entries have appeared on Froogle, Google's price comparison site.
Some sellers are claiming that they can get an iPhone to you before it comes out. Others claim it's already "Ready to Ship", whilst one person is selling 10 iPhones for a starting price of $3,600, and others are accepting pre-orders.
Usually, the accompanying photos are very low resolution, or pilfered from trade shows.
The article concludes that, whilst Apple may be tempted to create a shortage of units to increase hype and boost the iPhone's status, they may well produce enough iPhones to meet the initial demand.
