iPhone coming to Russia Autumn 2007?
It may not be too long before we find out whether the iPhone flops in Russia.
According to CNews, Apple may begin selling the iPhone in September or October this year — probably the same kind of timescale as we expect to see the iPhone in Europe.
“The sales channel hasn’t been determined so far, but these will most likely be federal chains, such as Euroset, Svyaznoy, Dixis, etc," said 'the source'.
If Apple wants to sell 50 thousand devices a year, this will happen anyway. If it would want to sell 500 thousand devices, it would need to work hard on it. It should prepare the product for the Russian market, to think about how to integrate the programs of other producers to a new OS for them, attract partners, do marketing," said Dmitry Khazhvu, Maccenter Director.
Some analysts believe that Apple needs to move quickly into other (non-US) markets, else consumers will become interested in products from other manufacturers.
