Rumour: Verizon to launch branded LG KE850 as an iPhone rival

According to a USA Today report, Denny Strigl, CEO of Verizon, is confident that they can release a decent iPhone rival on their own network:

“Given Apple’s cult-like following, however, Verizon isn’t taking any chances. Strigl says Verizon is already working with a manufacturer — he declines to say which one — on an answer to the iPhone.”

Gadgetell suggests that the manufacturer could be LG, and the phone a Verizon-branded version of their LG KE850.

According to our survey, the LG Prada is rated by over 1 in 5 people as a possible iPhone killer, so this wouldn't be a bad move by Verizon.
