Shiny iPhone Survey Results: Part 6: The Rivals
It seems that everyone who doesn't love the iPhone wants to emulate it, so our UK iPhone survey asked people which current mobile phone they thought was in the best position to rival the iPhone.
The results weren't too surprising.
The Nokia N95 received the most votes, with 26.4% of respondents thinking that it was a decent match for the iPhone. The Sony Ericsson W950i came in second place, with 22.7% of the vote, closely followed by the LG Prade, with 22.2% of the vote.
Asked which mobile manufacturer people thought was most likely to produce an iPhone killer, 32.8% said Nokia, followed by 29.8% for Sony Ericsson, and 13.3% for LG. Not surprising given the answers to the previous question.
Amongst those who said they were definitely getting an iPhone, 42.9% thought the LG Prada was the iPhone's biggest rival, with the Sony Ericsson W950i languishing with 14.3% and the Nokia N95 with 11.4%.
Having said that, only 8.8% thought that LG would produce another mobile phone worthy of rivalling the iPhone. Sony Ericsson got that crown, with 32.4%, followed by 20.6% saying Nokia.
Motorola fared badly throughout.
