Another analyst firm warns that the iPhone may not succesd
With just over a week to go until the iPhone launches, you'd expect not only the positively-overcharged hype, but also some warnings. Only fair, right?
Analysts from IDC have warned that the iPhone's launch may not be as successful as Apple and some industry watchers have anticipated.
"While the allure of owning the next 'cool' device will undoubtedly have early adopters – and die-hard Apple fans – queuing up to get the iPhone regardless of the price, the associated costs of ownership will persuade many others into a 'wait and see' position," said Shiv K Bakhshi PhD, director of mobility research at IDC.
Certainly it's not unusual for those with a little less money and a little greater caution not to jump immediately at the first generation of any product, but we'll have to wait and see just how well the hype translates into sales.
