Scam artists know a good opportunity when they see it.Many of the phony offers require people to purchase pricey merchandise, complete lengthy surveys or provide the e-mail addresses of at least 20 friends. Do you want the blame for a flood of spam? In some cases, after spending hundreds of dollars and wasting several hours, consumers don't receive the free "gifts."
