Verizon CEO Ivan Seidenberg not fazed by iPhone
A week before the iPhone hits America, Ivan Seidenberg has reiterated that he isn't concerned about the iPhone, and that it won't alter his Verizon's course.
"We need to let the iPhone hit the market. We need to see what the reaction is, but we don't believe it changes the game plan that we put in place for how we segment the market and what we think will attract the wireless user," Seidenberg said during a news conference at NXTcomm, the telecommunications industry's annual show.
In fact, he said that he hopes that the iPhone does reasonably well, because it should add a lot of excitement and stimulation to the entire space. "If we've done our job the way we think we have, then we'll be a beneficiary in a very different way," he said.
Seidenberg said that Verizon would have 20 new mobile devices available before the end of the year, and has been emphasising that its network is better because the iPhone only works with AT&T.
