ColorWare offer iPhone colour customisation service
ColorWare is offering a service to skin your iPhone in a variety of colour wraps. Owners either send in their current iPhone, or buy one directly from them.
Firstly, the iPhone is cleaned to remove any residual chemicals, and then painted the desired colour. Then it has the X2 coating applied, which protects it from scratching, and then cured with UV light for superior scratch resistance and clarity.
Finally, it's fully assembled, and repackaged in Apple's original packaging.
Various sections, including the back, dock, logo, earbuds, frame, and button, can be differently coloured, and there are plenty of colours to choose from, including metallic blush, envy, candy apple, techno, hybrid, blaze, midnight, lightning, steel, alpine, dragon, lilac, mystique, carbon, powder, prowler, sand, and wet; and solid colours caution, ferrari, cotton candy, smoke, jet black, fusion, cobalt, jade, coffee, crush, and romance.
The service costs $149 for a customer's existing iPhone, $649 for a new 4GB iPhone, or $749 for a new 8GB iPhone.
