Rumour: Second generation iPhone coming in September
According to DigiTimes, a Taiwanese manufacturer has already received orders for a second generation of touch screens for the iPhone.
This leads to the rumour of a second-generation, cut-down iPhone for the US in September, priced between $249-$299.
Personally I think it's too soon to release another iPhone Stateside, given that barely two months will have passed. I'm biased, perhaps, but I'd rather see Apple expand into other territories with the current iPhone, or an improved - not scaled down - version.
Having said that, a scaled down version shouldn't aggravate too many existing customers - a cheaper model that does more so soon after initial launch would, but not a lower specification iPhone.
