Safari could make iPhone good for business, softwre company says
Though some aren't keen on the iPhone's development solution, one software company at least believes that the Web 2.0 solution combined with Safari will make the iPhone good for business use.
Information Builders, who make business intelligence and web reporting software, now offers a mobile analytics cool that lets business users interact with data using their web-enabled smartphone.
They claim that users can operate 90% of the functionality of Microsoft Excel using just the JavaScript-enabled browser and their software.
"What will revolutionize Web-based business apps on smartphones are full-featured browsers like Safari on the iPhone and the Opera Mini," said Rado Kotorov, director of strategic product management at the company.
He also said that the iPhone addressed three key concerns of business users over mobile applications: poor web browsing experience, small screen size, and limited memory.
"Soon expect to have 30GB of storage on these devices," he said.
