AdMob targets iPhone with advertising, signing up 15 publishers
iphone, iphonic, apple, shinymediaLove it or hate it, mobile advertising in some form or another isn't going to go away, so at least it had better be well-targeted, relevant, non-invasive media that's piped to your handset, particularly if you're on a slow connection.
In that light, AdMob has formed a new advertising unit to help brands and companies reach the huge number of new iPhone users, and take advantage of its unique capabilities. AdMob has over 2,000 ad publishers on board, and so far 15 of them have signed up to develop iPhone-specific content.
AdMob's ad servers can now recognise when an iPhone is browsing the site, and serve up tailored ads.
“What we built takes advantage of the targeting capabilities of our platform and the unique capabilities of the iPhone to deliver rich, mobile-specific advertisements. This new user functionality – from an advertisement – is exactly what mobility is all about,” said AdMob CEO Omar Hamoui.
