Neurovascular surgeon using iPhone to improve surgery
That title is not an exaggeration, according to the Wall Street Journal, for Robert Singer, a neurovascular surgeon, is using his iPhone to access his practice's electronic medical records system via the Safari web browser.
He used to use a BlackBerry, but had to access his patient's records the night before surgery as it was impossible to get full web access on it.
He reports that, last month, he changed how he performed some surgery after viewing the patient's medical records which had changed that day, just prior to the operation.
Singer originally bought the iPhone on launch day because it looked like fun, but now his 450 annual operations are improved thanks to the ability to use it at work.
There are sure to be plenty more creative ways that forward-thinking business users are utilising the iPhone.
