8GB iPhone coming to UK: 9th November with O2

The wait is finally over, with Apple officially announcing their plans for the iPhone in the UK.
The 8GB iPhone will cost £269 and be available exclusively with O2 on plans starting at £35 per month, with a new 18 month minimum contract. For those who were hoping, it's not 3G.
All plans include unlimited anytime, anywhere mobile data usage, plus free unlimited use of the UK's largest single public Wi-Fi network (The Cloud), which covers 7,500 cafés, restaurants, airport lounges, pubs, and other locations.
Presumably the cost of calls, texts and other services will depend on the plan. There's no mention yet as to whether visual voicemail has been activated on the O2 network
Activation will be in the same way as in the US, via iTunes.
"We're thrilled to be partnering with O2 to offer our revolutionary iPhone to UK customers," said Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO. "US iPhone customer satisfaction is off the charts, and we can't wait to let UK customers get their hands on it and learn what they think of it."
"Our strategy at O2 is to bring our customers the best products and experiences,” said Matthew Key, CEO, O2 UK. “The iPhone is a breakthrough that is changing the way people use their mobiles forever, and we're thrilled to have it exclusively for O2 customers in the UK."
