Apple to announce UK / European iPhone deal next week: September 18th

An email sent from Apple UK's press department to a select group of journalists begins "Mum is no longer the word", and invites the press to the Apple Store in Regent Street, London.
That's it — no further information — but the very title surely points to an official announcement about the iPhone's release date in the UK (and possibly Europe), and which operator, or operators, will get it.
Someone commenting on Engadget's report of the event claims to work in the aforementioned Apple Store, and reckons that there are about 50 boxes under close guard, though they give no clue as to how big they are, or whether they're destined for the press event.
Not much to go on, but we'll keep you posted on the rumours, and bring you information after the event itself.
