iPhone's price cut sees 300% increase in daily sales, analyst suggests
An analyst at Piper Jaffray believes that the effects of the iPhone price slash on sales has been immediate and marked.
Gene Munster believes that sales of the iPhone have increased from 9,000 per day, when the price was $599, to 27,000 at $399.
However, much as the initial flood of sales when the iPhone was first released back in late June, this new surge will subside, but to a respectable 50% increase in daily sales.
That could see a total of 2.5 million iPhones sold in the US by the end of the year, and that ignores the sale of handsets in new markets such as Europe.
It will also be interesting to see how much the new iPod Touch takes sales away from the iPhone, for those who want the iPod-like functionality but don't care for the phone or for AT&T.
