Sybase iAnywhere announces enterprise email support for iPhone
Sybase iAnywhere has announced that it is to provide iPhone support within its Information Anywhere suite, which will allow organisations to provide secure delivery of Lotus Domino and Microsoft Exchange enterprise email.
"With millions of iPhones sold in recent months, IT organizations are challenged with how to manage the influx of these personal devices coming 'in the back door' without compromising enterprise security policies," said Mark Willnerd, vice president, Sybase iAnywhere. "Information Anywhere provides a way for businesses to be proactive in adding iPhone as a supported device, along with other mobile operating systems, for secure corporate email use."
According to the company, key benefits include security — allowing access without IMAP having to be enabled — offline email access, and Personal Information Management (PIM) data support.
The software is expected to be available in the first half of 2008. More information can be found here.
