iPhone tops Google searches in 2007
Google's annual roundup of what was hot in search during the year has revealed that the iPhone topped the charts.
Given that it was announced in January, launched in the US at the end of June, and then in Europe towards the end of the year, it's not surprising there's been a strong, steady flow of searches for Apple's wonder phone.
Apart from rumours of the iPhone last year, given that the device didn't exist, Marissa Mayer from Google said that it was a rarely searched for term in 2006. That's despite the fact that Apple officially settled on the same name as that which the rumourmongers had given it.
The iPhone was also the fastest growing global search term in 2007.
