Webmasters: How to create an iPhone icon
Now that the iPhone's firmware version 1.1.3 allows up to nine WebClips to be saved to the home page, it's only fair that website owners should know how to create the image which gets placed on the home page.
For those familiar with the tiny "favicon" icons used for bookmarks in many desktop web browsers, the concept will seem very familiar.
Using image editing software, create an 8-bit PNG image that's 57x57 pixels to your taste, then save it as "apple-touch-icon.png". Then, upload it to the root directory of your website.
This should allow anyone who visits your site, and who wants to create a shortcut to it, to see your custom icon when they "Add to Home Screen".
