iPhone SDK delayed until March, reports suggest
With only five working days left in February (they even get an extra day on Friday), it wouldn't be a surprise if the iPhone Software Development Kit (SDK) was delayed until some time in March.
Reports suggest that the SDK is not ready to be launched yet, though there is no official word from Apple. Given that the company, usually meticulous on timing, has had a few apparent hiccups of late (Leopard delays to get iPhone launched, for example) then this is par for the course.
Selected developers have been testing the SDK, so perhaps there are glitches that mean it would be unwise to unleash it to a wider audience. After all, Mr Jobs would have us think that security is of paramount importance — that's one of the primary reasons why the iPhone was closed from launch, and has officially remained locked ever since.
Let the hacking continue.
