iPhone to get direct Exchange support via ActiveSync
The iPhone will have direct access to Microsoft Exchange servers via ActiveSync, it has just been announced.
Speaking at the Apple iPhone Event at Apple HQ, Cupertino, Phil Schiller outlined the new additions to the iPhone's Mail, Calendar, and Contacts applications to allow it to directly interface with an Exchange Server.
The iPhone will now offer push e-mail, push calendaring, push contacts, global access lists, and remote wipe.
It's been tested with the likes of Nike and Disney -- the CEO of Nike called it a "plug-and-play enterprise solution".
