Rumour: Apple places 10m unit order for 3G iPhones
According to Asian sources who've been speaking to Gartner analyst Ken Dulaney, Apple has already placed an order for 10 million 3G-capable iPhones.
In order to help preserve battery life, the new iPhone could feature a display utilising OLED technology. That will be important given that a 3G phone will drain the battery more quickly than an EDGE-enabled one.
Additionally, according to Kevin Rose (who has nothing official to do with Apple, but why should that matter?) reckons that a 3G iPhone is coming in the next few months, and will incorporate a front-mounted video camera for video chat.
We're still holding out for a decent 3G iPhone this year.
