University giving away free iPhones to aid learning
The Abilene Christian University has decided that its newly enrolling students will learn better if they're given a free iPhone or iPod Touch.
The devices will be integrated into class. That very old-fashioned notion of putting your hand up and vocally asking a question of your lecturer could be a thing of the past -- now you can simply send a text message.
In return, staff can send out quiz questions, slide shows, and other multimedia.
Gimmicky? Surely not.
