Got iPhone? China Mobile leaves door ajar
You do get the feeling that China Mobile would really like the iPhone, but isn't prepared to bow to Apple's demands.
With an estimated 400,000 iPhones in China already, that's hardly surprising.
New reports suggest that China Mobile's CEO, Wang Jianzhou, that it's the sharing of monthly subscriber revenues that's keeping them from having formal talks with Apple. He reiteratedthat, as long as there was consumer demand in the country, the door would remain open.
We've come to expect this kind of wrangling -- at least as the media reports it -- with every new market Apple wants to bring the iPhone to. Think back to the mess before the European launch.
