Orange seals Apple deal to sell iPhone in new countries
Orange has announced that it has signed a deal with Apple to sell the iPhone in a number of new countries throughout Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
The ten countries specifically named in Orange's short statement are Austria, Belgium, the Dominican Republic, Egypt, Jordan, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Switzerland. Additionally, "African markets" will be sold to, though which ones isn't clear.
It's not clear whether any of these markets will be exclusive deals, though we already know that Swisscom will sell the iPhone in Switzerland so that's one non-exclusive deal.
It seems Apple is set to push the iPhone into as many territories as possible - quite a diversion from the restricted areas the current iPhone is being sold in.
