StyleTap to launch Palm OS emulator for iPhone
A couple of months ago I reported that StyleTap were looking at creating a Palm OS emulator for the iPhone, and now the company has announced that consumer feedback to the video it released back in February has convinced it to continue development.
"The iPhone is one of the hottest new mobile devices out there," said Gregory Sokoloff, CEO of StyleTap, "and the response to our video has convinced us that many, many consumers, and companies, will eagerly jump at the change to buy iPhone devices if they can continue to run their must-have applications."
It could allow the hugely popular Palm OS and some 20,000 mobile applications to be run on the iPhone, providing there are no restrictions imposed by Apple on the SDK being used to develop these kind of apps.
I loved the Palm OS, and it could open up the door to some of the more interesting applications being usable on the iPhone, where equivalent native third-party apps would unlikely be developed.
