iPhone 3G shortage could last at least a month, analyst suggests
The iPhone 3G's phenomenal first weekend of sales may have caught Apple a little short on stocks.
An analyst from Piper Jaffray & Co reckons that the iPhone 3G could be in very short supply for at least the next two to four weeks, citing Apple's underestimation of demand, and the international roll out to 21 countries, as the reason.
In the US last week, only about a quarter of Apple Stores had iPhone 3G stock readily available. Seems that black is the most popular choice where both 16GB models are available, as white models are in relatively plentiful supply.
In the UK, O2 is expecting "considerably more stock" from this coming Friday.
