iPhone Rivals Watch: HP readying an iPhone killer?
According to rumours, HP may be readying a touchscreen version of its iPaq smartphone to challenge Apple's iPhone.
Some of HP's existing iPaqs feature a screen designed to be used with a stylus. If HP decided to launch a model controlled by finger touch, it would probably have to layer its own interface on top of Windows Mobile, as is the case with HTC's Touch and Samsung's Omnia.
HP has neither confirmed nor denied the suggestion. Given that HP briefly its own version of the iPod there'd be a certain irony in it developing an iPhone "clone".
