iPow External Battery Case extends iPhone's battery life
Now available in the UK, the iPow External Battery Case is designed to extend the life of the iPhone's battery while protecting the phone in a stylish leather flip case.
The hard-backed case fits snugly around the iPhone, still leaving the camera lens exposed, and has a magnetic flip catch. It comes with integrated mini-speakers which double the sound output from the iPhone, plus additional lithium ion battery that claims to double the original battery's capacity.
Considering that this is an additional battery, audio speakers, and case in one, the £49.99 seems very reasonable. Whether you want to cover the sleek iPhone with a leather case, however light, is up to you, but if protection and longevity of battery is more important (and once you've used the iPhone on the go for a few weeks, it probably is) this is quite an elegant and cost-effective solution.
Unfortunately, the iPow is only compatible with the first generation iPhones at present, so if you've got an iPhone 3G you'll have to wait. Twisted Carbon says that an updated iPow is coming soon, so watch this space.
