Apple pulling out of Macworld, Steve Jobs dropping keynote
Steve Jobs will not deliver the keynote speech at Macworld 2009, Apple has announced today.
Additionally, once the doors close on next month's Apple-focused trade fair, that's it for Apple - the company will no longer exhibit at the event.
Instead, Apple will rely on running its own events (something it's been doing more often over the last couple of years) for making product announcements.
"Trade shows have become a very minor part of how Apple reaches its customers. The increasing popularity of Apple's Retail Stores, which more than 3.5 million people visit every week, and the Apple.com website enable Apple to directly reach more than a hundred million customers around the world in innovative new ways," the company said.
Meanwhile, senior vice president of worldwide product marketing, Phil Schiller, will give this year's Macworld keynote address. What will he wear?
