iPhone Application Watch: Tioti TV+
Tired of flicking through pages and pages of printed TV guides, or trying to handle your set-top boxes EPG? Tioti TV+ could be the answer.
Not only does it provide up-to-date information about what TV programmes are coming up on UK terrestrial, cable and satellite channels, but it will suggest related programmes that viewers may have missed.
Programmes that a user is interested in watching can be marked on the guide, after which Tioti TV+ will create a personal TV guide showing which channel should be watched at any given time. It can even interface with the Sky+ service, so if you're away from home you can remotely schedule programmes to be recorded.
The "you may also like..." function suggests other TV programmes that may be of interest, while the software also interfaces with the BBC iPlayer catch-up service, allowing programmes to be streamed directly to the iPhone from within the application.
Simon Steward is chief executive of Vizimo, the developer behind Tioti TV+. He said: "There are so many channels and so many sources that it's virtually impossible to find and remember all the programmes that you might want to watch so you can plan your day or evening in front of the TV. The situation is made even more complex by catch-up content, which means content from the last seven days is available to us if only we knew where to look. How are we supposed to remember, 20 pages of a listings guide or 20 pages of a website later, what we chose some 300 channels ago for 8.30pm? Now, we - iPhone users at least - don't have to."
£1.79 from the App Store.
