O2 may bring energy-efficient charger to iPhone
In the last few days, UK mobile operator O2 has announced that it has developed an energy-efficient universal mobile phone charger which claims to cut energy consumption by as much as 70 per cent compared to standard chargers thanks to a significant improvement over the EnergyStar benchmark.
The charger eliminates heat loss and cuts power when the attached mobile phone has been fully charged.
Costing £14.99 (£7.49 until 31st December this year if bought with an O2 handset) it is compatible with Nokia, Samsung and Sony Ericsson phones. However, BlackBerry and iPhone handsets are expected to be catered for in early 2009.
