iPhone Application Watch: Bikini Hunt has nobler cause
"Bikini Hunt" at first glance may seem like a fairly shallow attention grabber for the majority of male iPhone owners -- spot the difference between two bikini-clad international models.
Look a little closer (at the concept, that is) and you'll see that not only is the application free, but the home page allows users to show their gratitude by making a donation to Wherever the Need, an international non-profit organisation that provides clean drinking water and eco-sanitation systems to poverty stricken areas around the world.
"The concept behind Bikini Hunt is not too different from the popular photo matching game of picking out differences between two drawings, we've just chosen a different kind of image - aimed at the interests of (at least) half of iPhone users," said developer PosiMotion's CEO Olivier Hennessy. "While it might not seem obvious for PosiMotion to support a 'serious' charity like Wherever the Need with this type of game, we deeply believe in the work they're doing and hope that with the contributions from Bikini Hunt players can further Wherever the Need's initiatives."
The app doesn't appear to be live on the iTunes store yet (or isn't available in the UK) but there will likely be more info at PosiMotion's web site.
