iPhone Application Watch: London Tube
At last you can download an official route planner for the London Underground system, no longer having to put up with Google Maps' rather bizarre avoidance of London (presumably due to licensing issues).
Though not created by Transport for London, London Tube is fully licensed by TfL and includes the following features:
- Latest map of London Tube (2009).
- Detailed map of most lines in London.
- Precise location of each station on the map (with a red circle), and also on Google Map.
- The trip planner tool allows you to find automatically the best route to get to your destination in London Tube. Travel time is also estimated.
- Interactive map to choose your stations for the route.
- The route planner included in this application does not require a network connection to operate, it works perfectly while in the subway.
- The application locates the nearest Tube stations from your position in London.
- Updates already in work for this application.
