Apple holding special event for iPhone OS 3.0 software announcement
Apple has been sending out invitations to journalists in the US inviting them to Apple HQ in Cupertino to hear about the next incarnation of iPhone software.
It's not clear whether an actual release of software will be ready at this time, or if it's just to get developers up to speed with new features that may be added to the software development kit. Given that this is a complete version jump, you'd expect some fairly significant changes in functionality even for the existing hardware.
As soon as we hear what new things Apple has in store for iPhone users, we'll let you know.
