Truphone 3.0 launches [iPhone Application Watch]

Truphone has today announced that the third version of its iPhone VoIP application is now available in the App Store.

New features include a slicker, more intuitive user experience, better account management, faster operation and improved call quality.

Naturally, Truphone is keen to boost its market share over obvious rival (and relative newcomer to the iPhone), Skype.

Here are five reasons Truphone believes it trumps Skype:

1. Works anywhere Truphone works outside of Wi-Fi with Truphone Anywhere, literally allowing users to make calls from anywhere around the world and stay connected by voice to other Truphone users, to Skype users, landlines and mobiles around the world from their home country.
2. Works with all communities

   Truphone operates across multiple instant messaging communities, including Skype, MSN Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, AIM and Google Talk, meaning users only need one application to keep in touch with all of their friends on a variety of online communities - there's no need to open and close a variety of applications to communicate with all your contacts: you can do it all from Truphone: Truphone-to-Truphone, landlines, mobiles, and IM communities.
