Astraware launches Solitaire for iPhone
Fans of simple, traditional games will be pleased to know that Astraware continues to release old favourites to the iPhone platform.
Following the success of its Board Games and Sudoku comes Solitaire, and it's available for a limited time for just 99c / 59p.
Now, Solitaire has to be one of the most crowded niches on the App Store (or indeed, any platform). I counted well over 100 variants, so Astraware is certainly up against it.
That said, Astraware is a big, well-established company that produces high-quality games at a decent price, so it stands a chance. It definitely looks good, and comes with the following features:
- Really good range of card games including Klondike, Pyramid, Spider, Clock, Yukon, Canfield, Four Seasons, Sultan's Harem, Idiot's Delight, Golf, Calculation and Freecell.
- Custom gameplay options for altering the standard rules.
- Choice of wallpapers including photos, colour themes, cardbacks, and unlock of new designs for special achievements.
- Traditional and easy-to-see card fronts - great for those with visual impairment or for playing in brighter conditions.
- Plenty of in-game statistics.
- Auto-save, sound effects, own music option.
It can be downloaded here.
